Preparing the Vessel for Survey
This should be done in order to properly prepare a vessel for a thorough survey.
I realize that there may be seller/owner situations with extenuating circumstances.
- The boat should be clean with all personal gear removed.
- All bagged sails should be placed in forward V-Berth.
- Batteries shall be on board and fully charged.
- Notify the surveyor if there is no AC power available. I will bring my own generator.
- Any removal of panels by means of tools must be done by owner or authorized person.
- If mast is stepped, I will examine the rigging at deck level only.
- All sail inspections must be done by a qualified technician at a sail loft.
The surveyor will do an assessment of the sails to the best of his ability in the bag.
- All documentation including logs and service records should be on board.
- All safety gear and electronics should be on board.
- Any additional accessories that are with the boat should be present and made available for inspections.
